How to Treat Dog Skin Disease

Now many pet owners are most afraid of dog skin disease in the process of raising a dog. We all know that skin disease is a very stubborn disease, its treatment cycle is very long and easy to relapse. However, how to treat dog skin disease?

1.Clean Skin:
For all kinds of skin diseases, we should clean the dog’s skin before applying medicine. We can use light saline solution, which is a mild antiseptic that can be easily found at home. It can be used with normal saline or made by ourselves (usually a spoonful of salt dissolved in a cup of water). Sometimes we need to cut the dog’s coat then rinse it with salt water.

2. Take Antibiotics:
For some severe skin diseases, if external medication alone cannot achieve the purpose of treatment, then oral antibiotic therapy is needed. You can treat your dog with amoxicillin (dosage: 12-22mg/kg body weight, 2-3 times a day).

3. Take VitaminB
You can choose some vitamin B2 pills to accompany the treatment. We all know that vitamins are good for the dog’s fur regrowth, so choosing B complex vitamins as an adjuvant treatment is a very good choice.

4. Right Medication
If you treat the dog with ointment, massage the applied area for 1 minute after applying.

PS:

Note that it is important to put an Elizabeth collar on your dog after every application to prevent him from licking or scratching his body. In addition, you can choose a breathable gauze to cover the skin of your dog.
