Active Ingredients & Mechanism

Imidacloprid (neonicotinoid insecticide)

Binds to nicotinic acetylcholine receptors in the flea's central nervous system, causing paralysis and death. Kills adult fleas within 24 hours of application. Also lethal to flea larvae in the animal's environment through contact after spreading from the coat.

Moxidectin (macrocyclic lactone endectocide)

Enhances GABA-mediated chloride ion channel activity in nematodes and arthropods, causing paralysis. Provides the heartworm prevention and internal parasite coverage that imidacloprid alone cannot deliver. Distributes systemically after topical application, reaching bloodstream parasites.
